Tennis has four Grand Slam tournaments, which are historically the most prestigious events played throughout the tennis calendar.
Recent years have seen incredible duels between the likes of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. The matches can go on for hours, with there being some truly remarkable '5 setter' finals.
With the Grand Slams being held in some of the world's best cities, you're able to both tick off a trip to London, Paris, New York or Melbourne, with watching the best tennis on the planet.
In 1925 the tennis grand slams as we know them were born. Before that there were only three events. These were Wimbledon, the World Hard Court Championships, and the World Covered Court Championships. The World Hard Court Championships were usually held in Paris but the Covered Court Championships changed location. The International Lawn Tennis Federation though changed this to create the 4 majors, taking place in the UK, France, USA and Australia.
Since this, these majors have retained their prestige, and have provided high quality 5 set tennis ever since, except during war years and in 1986 when there was no Australian Open.
Roger Federer is the all time leading winner of Men's Grand Slams with 20, with Serena having won 23 Women's Grand Slams!
Wimbledon is our favourite Grand Slam, and is the ultimate grass tennis tournament in the world. Watching a match on the famous centre court is a lifetime experience, that you don't even really need to like tennis to enjoy.
